Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple yet powerful: engage students by connecting with their interests. Our resources are tailored for various educational settings, including classrooms, homeschools, and tutoring environments. We strive to support you in the rewarding challenge of addressing each student’s unique interests, needs, and learning styles.

Our Teaching Experience

Learning Harbor Resources are designed for effective use in classroom, homeschool and tutoring environments. One of our favorite quotes is “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” by Walt Disney, and our goal is to make resources that help children pursue their dreams whatever they may be.

The vast majority of our experience is in kindergarten and first grade. While teaching in South Carolina, Cheryl served as team leader for three different teams, a k – 2 combined team, a kindergarten team, and a third grade team. She also served as a cooperating teacher for student teachers from the University of South Carolina. While teaching in Texas, she served as a mentor to many education students from Texas State University, and from all of these experiences, collaboration and mentoring were key.

Now, we work together to continue this collaboration with you, our reader.
